Dear [salutation],So much happened throughout February that the beginning of the month feels like a lifetime ago. From the Congressional Delegation I brought to El Paso, to the visits I made to the projects I helped secure funding for, this month was filled with events all over our community.I also had the honor of attending President Biden's State of the Union, and let me tell you [firstname], I'm as hopeful and optimistic about the direction of our country. It was rewarding to hear about the accomplishments we made over the past year, as well as the work we still have left to do. Additionally, I was able to host El Paso County Attorney Jo Anne Bernal as my special guest. As always, please remember to subscribe to my newsletter and follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to ensure you never miss any of my updates and stay in the loop on what I’ve been doing for El Paso.P.S. I hope you've had a peaceful month despite all the windy days this month!
Representative Veronica Escobar

Dear [salutation],

So much happened throughout February that the beginning of the month feels like a lifetime ago. From the Congressional Delegation I brought to El Paso, to the visits I made to the projects I helped secure funding for, this month was filled with events all over our community.

I also had the honor of attending President Biden's State of the Union, and let me tell you [firstname], I'm as hopeful and optimistic about the direction of our country. It was rewarding to hear about the accomplishments we made over the past year, as well as the work we still have left to do. Additionally, I was able to host El Paso County Attorney Jo Anne Bernal as my special guest.

As always, please remember to subscribe to my newsletter and follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to ensure you never miss any of my updates and stay in the loop on what I’ve been doing for El Paso.

P.S. I hope you've had a peaceful month despite all the windy days this month!

Happy National Library Lovers Month!

It was truly a pleasure to stop by the Westside Library Branch this month and present some books all the way from the Library of Congress

in Washington, DC.

There's no one who wants a safe, secure, well-managed border more than those of us who live and raise our children on the border.

I joined the House Judiciary Committee

early this month for a hearing featuring our very own County Judge Samaniego.

Thank you to Socorro ISD leadership for stopping by my office earlier this month!

We spoke about the critical issues facing our school districts, including teacher recruitment & retention, as well as funding for the IDEA legislation.

I was thrilled 7 of my Democratic colleagues joined me in El Paso today to see firsthand how our immigration policies are affecting communities along the southern border,

Having brought over 20% of Congress to El Paso throughout my time as your representative, I made sure to show them a comprehensive look at the challenges migrants, federal law enforcement agents, and members of our community as a whole face.

Last month, I shared with you about my excitement to have secured over $25 million in federal funding that will help support 14 great projects going on in our community,

This month, I had the opportunity to visit many of the sites and learn about the progress they're making on each project. You can look at photos from some of the visits below!

Feb 2023 Batch 4

It is rewarding to see the fruits of our labor in DC manifest into something life-changing for our community.

I proudly secured over $2.4 million for Opportunity Center for the Homeless to construct a permanent Casa de los Abuelitos for our elderly and homeless population.

As our city grows, having an airport with modern facilities is more important than ever.

Through Community Project Funding, I secured $1.75 million for a solar-powered parking lot, which will offset the energy consumed by the Terminal annually.

Critical infrastructure was an important part of the funding we prioritized for Community Project Funding.

That's why I managed to secure $4 million for Vinton. These funds will be used to expand potable water and wastewater treatment for local businesses.

Feb 2023 Batch 3

I recently had the opportunity to visit

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso and discuss the progress of their Border Health Outreach Initiative.

Through consistent advocacy, I secured $3 million in Community Project Funding for them to target at-risk communities and provide telemedicine services.

Setting an effective transit foundation is important for growing towns like Horizon City.

I'm proud to have secured almost $2 million for a design & environmental study for a transit plaza and transit-oriented development. I'm excited to see this project start!

Made possible by Community Project Funding, I secured almost $2 million to construct a new facility for the Town of Anthony.

This facility - which will include a police station, courthouse, and emergency community shelter - will help keep up with the growth!
