Join the Office of Congresswoman Veronica Escobar for a Veterans History Project virtual training session on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 11 a.m. MT.
The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of America’s war veterans so future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand their selfless service.
If you are a veteran and would like to share your oral history, or you live in the 16th Congressional District and would like to help interview veterans and collect their stories, we encourage you to attend this virtual training session.
The virtual training session will conducted by historian and cultural anthropologist Alejandro Garcia from the Institute of Oral History at UTEP and is designed to increase participants' understanding of the personal aspects of oral history interviewing and the technical aspects of audio and video documentation, as well as the specifics of VHP guidelines so that interviews may be included in the archives at the Library of Congress.
The training session is free and open to the public and will be conducted through Zoom. El Pasoans can register here.
