Congresswoman Escobar Hosts Under Secretary of the Army, the Honorable Gabe Camarillo in El Paso

This week, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar welcomed Under Secretary of the Army, the Honorable Gabe Camarillo to El Paso.

During the visit, the Under Secretary and the Congresswoman met with local Castner Range advocates, toured key assets on Fort Bliss- including the Fort Bliss railhead and transient, permanent, and 3-D printed barracks, met with military spouses at the El Paso chapter of the USO, and announced a new initiative to create an expanded talent Pipeline with UTEP, a commitment of over $6.5 million to link El Paso students with Army opportunities.

“It was an honor and a privilege to welcome El Paso native, the Honorable Gabe Camarillo, home this week,” said Congresswoman Escobar. “We had the opportunity to meet with those that make up the fabric of our community- the extraordinary servicemembers and their spouses at Fort Bliss, the tireless advocates of Castner Range, and the incredible faculty, staff, and students at UTEP. I’m grateful for the Under Secretary’s dedicated leadership and look forward to the continued partnership between El Paso and the Army.”
