Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16) released the following statement following Speaker Pelosi’s announcement that she will not seek another term in Democratic leadership:

“Speaker Pelosi has been the most consequential leader of my time, a woman of strength, strategy and brilliance. She led our country through some of our darkest moments and she shepherded historic legislation that improved the lives of millions of Americans and future generations. ‘For the children,’ is Speaker Pelosi’s mantra, and it is the children of our country who have been her guiding light. She has been ours. It is with great pride that I can say I have served alongside one of America’s most important patriots, and it is with great love that I thank her for her selflessness and her devotion to all of us.”
