Today Congresswoman Escobar (TX-16) released the following statement on Greg Abbott’s family separation policy at the southern border. “I am horrified by the news that Greg Abbott is separating children from their fathers at our southern border. In a throwback to the cruel family separation policies of former President Donald Trump, Governor Abbott is once again using inhumanity and cruelty as public policy. “The full force of the federal government must come down on Governor Abbott and his policies devoted to inflicting trauma and pain to migrants for purely political purposes. “I hope to see the media asking every single member of the Republican conference, especially Texas Republicans, to unequivocally and immediately condemn such cruelty with the force it deserves.”
