Congresswoman Escobar Announces 2025 Congressional Art Competition Winners

Today, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16) announced the winners of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. This comes after she hosted a showcase and reception at the El Paso Museum of Art in which Zoe Martinez, a student at Bel Air High School was chosen as the winner for her piece “From My Roof, I See Home.”

"Every year I look forward to celebrating the artistry of young people in our community," said Rep. Escobar. "I'm grateful to our partners like the El Paso Museum of Art, the judges, the teachers, the students and their families for their dedication. I look forward to hosting Zoe in Washington and showcasing her artwork in our nation’s capital for all to see."

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. This year, Congresswoman Escobar’s office had 126 pieces of art from 22 different high schools for the competition. It also marked the first year in which the art competition had a theme, "The Spirit of El Paso,” encouraging students to capture the essence of El Paso as a vibrant and welcoming community in their artwork.

The top 100 pieces will be displayed at the El Paso Museum of Art between May and August.
