Today, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16) released the following statement after voting to fund the federal government: “Today, I voted in favor of the Senate legislation to fund our government, protect vulnerable populations, continue funding vital programs, and avoid yet another Republican shutdown. “This is a bipartisan Continuing Resolution (CR) that funds our government through mid-December; this is what happens when the Republican majority works with Democrats — agreement is indeed possible. “I will continue to work diligently through the Appropriations Committee to advance long term funding bills that prioritize our community and avoid the culture war provisions my Republican colleagues continue to obsess about.”
