Washington,
January 3, 2021
Congresswoman Veronica Escobar was sworn in as a Member of the 117th United States Congress representing Texas’ 16th District, beginning her second term in the House of Representatives. “I am incredibly humbled to again have the opportunity to serve El Paso – Texas’ 16th Congressional District. I know I wouldn’t be here without the support of so many, and I am very grateful for the privilege of representing my community,” said Congresswoman Escobar. “We have tremendous challenges ahead, especially because of the global pandemic that still ravages our borderland, but I am also optimistic and hopeful about the work ahead. “There is no time to waste. This Congress, I am committed to working with the incoming Biden-Harris administration to build on the progress of the last two years, continue fighting to protect the lives and livelihoods of El Paso families, and create an economic recovery plan that uplifts all communities and addresses structural inequalities.”
