Service Academy Nominations Info

As the U.S. Representative for the 16th Congressional District of Texas in the United States House of Representatives, each year I have the privilege of nominating a limited number of extraordinary youth to four of the five service academies. The honor of attending a service academy comes with an obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. The application process for the 2026 cycle is now open.

Components to apply for a nomination:

  • Two letters of recommendation. They must be from a teacher, principal, or guidance counselor, and/or from an employer, coach, or extracurricular faculty advisor. Must not be from a relative. Homeschooled applicants can get a letter from someone who is related to them and can speak to the candidate’s academic and personal accomplishments. Letters must be dated within 3 months from the day the application is submitted to our office.
