Today, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16) released the following statement after the Senate passed its version of the reconciliation bill:

“Today, the Vice President and 50 Republican Senators voted to takeaway healthcare from 17 million Americans to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and explode our deficit by trillions of dollars. As House Republicans rush through this worse version of the bill without reading it, the American people must take notice of where their loyalties lie. When it comes to prioritizing the needs of their own constituents or those of the President and the billionaire class, Republicans consistently choose the latter.”
