Congresswoman Escobar has promoted Abbey Thompson to Communications Director and Juan Pablo ‘JP’ Caballero to Digital Director.

Congresswoman Veronica Escobar (TX-16) announced new changes to her staff in her office.

Congresswoman Escobar has promoted Abbey Thompson as her Communications Director and Juan Pablo ‘JP’ Caballero as her Digital Director. Abbey, a North Carolinian and graduate of Bryn Mawr College, has served the El Paso community since August 2021, beginning with her work as Congresswoman Escobar’s Digital Media Assistant, Press Secretary, and finally Communications Director. Juan Pablo, a native El Pasoan and Coronado High School and Texas Tech University graduate, began last January as an intern for her DC office before being hired as a Press Assistant in April 2022.

Abbey will formally be taking on the role to lead, manage, and execute the Congresswoman’s communications operations in both Washington D.C. and El Paso, including the Congresswoman’s leadership role with the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee. Juan Pablo will be overseeing the office’s digital media strategy while assisting Abbey in executing the Congresswoman’s overall comprehensive communications strategy.
